The MUR was established in pursuance of the following objectives:-
(i) To equipped the Rohingya religious leaders (ulamas) with
worldly and spiritual knowledge;
(ii) To propagate Islamic teachings among the Rohingya
community in Malaysia;
(iii) To help establish educational infrastructure through the
establishment of madrasahs in Rohingya settlement areas
throughout the country;
(iv) To foster spiritual ties of fraternity and solidarity among the
Rohingya community in the country;
(v) To nurture the identity of the community among the present
and future generations in order to uphold their religious faith (iman) and total submission (taqwa) to the will of God.
(vi) To provide welfare assistance to the Rohingya community
(vii) To help the community carry out the religious rites and
ceremonial obligations associated with important events such as marriages and funerals.
